Isn't it funny how our outlook changes with each new chapter of our life. This weekend I celebrated my 29th birthday. We started with a day on the lake yesterday and followed up with a dinner at my parents with the family. Today (my actual birthday) we went to church and then took a photography class. Growing up, my birthday excitement came from presents and time with friends. Now the gift that brings me the most joy is the time I have with my family!

The class Andy and I took today was titled Urban Landscape. These are a few of my favorites.

School is out for the summer!!

What a great feeling! I was able to stay in my pjs until 4:30 today...that is the best thing about the summer time Even though the summer officially started less than a week ago, we have already had a WONDERFUL vacation with the family. We went to Blue Ridge, GA for the Memorial Day weekend. We went white water rafting, played horseshoes, strolled through the downtown historic area, and make time for family pictures. Trips like that make me realize how blessed I am to have such a supportive family that loves to have fun and enjoy each others company.

White water rafting was a blast. We don't have any pictures yet because we are waiting for them to be developed. Richard brought along a waterproof camera but there is no guarantee that they turned out . Mark and Andy sat in the front of the boat and really enjoyed looking each rapid "eye to eye." Richard sat in the middle in front of me and had a difficult time recollecting himself after I fell in the center of the boat and looked like a dead roach with my legs and arms in the air. (But I held onto my t-grip the whole time). We almost lost Mark and Jessica on separate occassions but they remained in the boat for the entire trip. And by the end of the trip, I think Katherine was excited to hear what direction to stroke. Hopefully we will have pictures up soon.
